Paraphrasing - Cipher Wheel

1.Chop out some strips of paper.
 2.  They should be each 1 centimeter wide the other should be 30 centimetres long
 3. Get the scissors and cut out small pieces of sticky tape
 4. To create one long strip of paper, use small pieces of tape to attach the fours strips together
5.  At the end of long strip of paper, put down  ‘START’. You have to write ‘START’ on the left end of the cipher wheel.
6. Get the sticky tape and tape the end ‘START’ of
the strip of paper just underneath the letters ‘START’ on the wheel.
7. Wind the strip gently around the cipher wheel so the sides of the paper just touch each other. Tape down the end of the strip of paper onto cipher wheel.
Today in literacy, we were learning about paraphrasing. Paraphrasing is when you read a story and re-tell it in your own words. Paraphrasing is good because if you read a book and re-tell it in your own words, then you understand what the book is really about.
